    Ed #3

    Thursday, September 27, 2007, 12:51 PM [General]

Well the first 2 weeks were great, however I had a little trouble getting lined up on Monday night. I didnt shoot horribly bad, but I lost a few pins on my average. I still averaged 173 this week, but have to work a little harder next week to get my average back up. I think I should be able to achieve my 200 average this season, I hope anyway.

    Fall League ed #2

    Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 04:40 PM [General]

Well last night was the 2nd week, and I am happy so far with what I have produced. Last week my average was 175. This week it was 190. My first game was my best this week at 210. It was followed by a 185, then 176. I only had 6 open frames across all 3 games. So far this season I have been able to matain my composure when i have had an open and bounce right back, with either a stike or a spare. Usually a strike though. I also used a ball last night that I havent been able to throw before. It was a Brunswick Absolute Inferno. I have been rolling either a Track Xception or a Storm Pyro. I rolled the Brunswick for the 1st 2 games and part of the 3rd. Then I lost my look, and tried the Track. I didnt have a good look on that ball either. So i went to my Pyro, and finished the game with 5 in a row. Should have switched sooner, lol. Hind sight is 20-20. Anyway I will let keep you all posted through the season.

    Fall League

    Tuesday, September 11, 2007, 09:33 AM [General]

Well we started our league last night. I was a little intimidated for a couple of reasons. First, I am bowling in a new house. Second, I am on a new team, where they put me as the anchor. I started out ok with a 161. Then it went downhill to a 148. I was disappointed with that. However, the 3rd game redeemed that with a 219. That gave me a 175.7 avereage, which is my highest average ever in league. I hope that I can keep my average up closer to 200, which is where I want to be. I think that bowling in an earlier league may be the help that I needed.

I THINK I HAVE FIGURED IT OUT

    Wednesday, August 22, 2007, 10:11 AM [General]

I have been expirimenting with my approach and I thin I have found the approach that will keep me more balanced at the line. I have shortened my backswing, but sped up my feet. This seemed to help last nigh tin league. Even though we bowled 9pin no tap, I had a 565 series with only 7 no taps in the whole series. I bowled quite a few strikes, which was a nice change. I am thinking about bowling a PBA experience league this season. I was very encouraged after league last night. It just seemed like everything clicked and that is a great feeling. I will keep you posted on my progress.

    Bowling as a lefty

    Thursday, December 28, 2006, 02:56 AM [General]

Well anyone that has ever tried to bowl with the opposite hand knows what its like. Stumble around, feel kinda stupid, and then it happens, you throw a strike. Well for me it was a forced transition since my accident in September of 2002. I was driving a dump truck when the hydraulic system malfunctioned a the bed fell on my right arm. The Doctors amputated my right arm (which I was right handed) just below the shoulder. I don't think that I would have been able to make it though the way that I have if it hadn't been 1 for God, and 2 my wonderful wife. She has been there for me through thick and thin!! She even joined me in a league this season (our first, and certainly not our last season). I have converted my game somewhat and have found that I am still able to roll a 16# BALL 60'. That in itself amazes me. I have dreams of bieng the first one handed professional bowler on tour in the PBA. With all the hard work I am putting in I think it'll pay off very soon. I will keep you guys updated on my progress, and be sure to keep your eyes open for me.
